Frequenty Asked Questions

Answers for Designers

How do I become a designer on Tatboard?
First, register for a Tatboard account. The more information you can include about your experience in area of expertise, the better. Create your portfolio. That’s it! We will approve your application based on the details you provide about your background and experience. Approval may take a few days.

How do I land projects on Tatboard?
Landing projects begins with great first impressions. Before bidding on projects, be sure that your profile page includes a great description of your capabilities and experience as well as examples of your work. Once you are confident about your profile, post thoughtful comments and questions to projects.  Bid on projects when you're ready. If a buyer picks you as the winner you will receve an email notification.

How are designers paid?
We deliver full payment to you via PayPal within one week after your buyer confirms satisfactory completion of the project. If not approved, however, your payment will be reduced by 50%. If we determine that the project completion was not approved due to negligence on your side, we will suspend your account. Suspensions are handled on a case by case basis and we will contact you by phone or email to discuss first. Register as a service provider for further details. If you're a US citizen we will need you to provide us with your W9 information so that we can be in compliance with US tax laws. If you are from outside the US you do not need to fill out a W9 Form. To provide your PayPal email, edit your account and add it in the Professional Details section.

Are there deadlines for delivering final designs?
Artists have up to three weeks to complete a final design upon winning a bid. The artist must complete their design within the time frame unless both artist and buyer have agreed otherwise. If the artist does not meet their deadline and has not made other arrangements with the buyer, suspension of the artist's account may take place.

Do I own the rights to the designs I complete?
No! All rights to original work created for requests you win are transferred to the buyer in exchange for the payment you receive. If you want to show the work in your portfolio, make sure you ask the client. In most cases, they will give you permission, and you will have it in writing!

Why should I submit thoughtful questions and comments to requests?
Comments build your reputation on the site, lead to stronger relationships with potential buyers and improve your chances of winning projects.

Answers for Buyers

How much do Tatboard professional charge?
Prices range project to project and are based on your personal budget and the service providers’ bids. You set your budget and different providers bid with the price they are comfortable working for. In the end it's up to you to decide what provider you pick and how much you pay.

How long does it take to finish a project?
Turnaround time depends on the service provider and your workflow with them. If you are in a rush on a project, please specify this in your project description.

Do I choose the professional for my project?
Yes, you can choose to work with anybody that bids on your project. To guarantee responses from top designers, show that you're a serious buyer by funding at least a 25% of your total budget up front.

What if I’m not happy with the project outcome?
The designer you choose will work with you until the project is complete. If you’re unhappy with the project’s progress, let the designer know what changes are needed and await the corrections. If you’ve worked with your professional and are still not satisfied with their work, you may be eligible for a refund if the designer was negligent and the refund was requested within 45 days of picking the designer.

How come my request isn’t getting any bids?
Pretend for a second that you're a busy designer and ask yourself if you would respond to your own request. If you're unsure, consider letting the designers know you are a serious buyer by funding at least 25% of your total budget if you haven't already done so. Check to see if you need to improve your title and description. Invite designers that impress you to bid. Reply to all comments in a timely manner and rate concepts and ideas for more participation.

How do I add sample attachments to my project?
That's simple. Go to your request page and click the "Edit" tab. Then add as many photos as necessary in the Helpful Photos section.

Will my credit card transaction be safe?
Yes, your credit card information is safe. To protect your personal information, we have taken security measures that are consistent with international information practices. These measures include technical and procedural steps to protect your data from misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, loss, alteration, or destruction. Credit card information is transmitted using up to 256 bit SSL encryption for processing your credit card.

What will happen after the purchase is complete?
After you add any amount of funds to your request, you will be emailed with a notification confirming the completed transaction. A receipt will be available within your account and you will start receiving bids to your request from our designers. Once hired, you will work with them until you are happy with the final outcome of the completed design. Once you approve, you will get any final files and your designer will get paid. It’s a win/win!
